  • Introducing The Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage Release Since 1984, each Master Distiller of Midleton Very Rare uses their eye for detail, their passion for quality whiskey and their exemplary skill to create the pinnacle of Irish whiskey—our special vintage release. The latest chapter of this renowned collection is adorned with the signature of our Master Distiller, Kevin O’Gorman. After months of exploration, O’Gorman crafted a balanced blend of rare and hand-selected single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys from Midleton’s exclusive inventory to create this truly special release. A combination of whiskey aged between 12 and 33 years and matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels, the Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage Release delights with decadent flavours and a tantalising aroma. The aroma, taste and finish of this whiskey will enliven the palates of those new to this collection while taking the seasoned whiskey collector on a journey through an exciting exploration of taste. ABV 40% Aroma Fruit-led introduction with fresh citrus notes of mandarin and candied apple, while dustings of white pepper with grated nutmeg deliver subtle levels of spice that complement the rich and velvety tones of hazelnut chocolate and toffee. Carefully balanced, the charred oak works in tandem with the elegant grain character, elevating the delicate and nuanced fresh floral tones with the addition of sweet vanilla and warming toasted wood aromas. Taste Caramelised red apples and orange zest with luscious, sweet, and decadent waves of crème brûlée that seamlessly intertwine with the pot still spices and cereal undertones, creating an intriguing and wonderful medley of fruits and spices. Finish Rich and lasting finish in which the grain and pot still spices are the first to softly fade allowing the oak, after years of carefully maturing the spirit, to have the final say. Midleton Very Rare 2022 Release $250.00
  • Glenmorangie 23 Year Old 1998 Bond House No.1 Grand Vintage Malt Grand Vintage Malt 1998 is like embarking on a transatlantic journey from the world of classic bourbon, to the sherry bodegas in Jerez, both finessed with virgin new charred oak. Rich with vibrant fruits, smooth toffee, and ginger, this whisky’s eloquence is a symbol of our elegant, experimental style. Delicate and spicy with a wonderful amber glow, this whisky showcases some of the first Glenmorangie ever aged in new charred oak. Dr Bill was particularly eager to explore the wonders new charred oak barrels might bring to Glenmorangie’s soft, fruity spirit. And so he earmarked a handful of carefully crafted casks, tailormade to enrich the Distillery’s single malt. By charring the virgin wood of these bespoke casks for the first time, Dr Bill hoped to create a striking style of single malt, intense in colour and spice. He left those experimental new char casks to age in the cool, quiet of an earth-floored warehouse for more than two decades. As he waited, the spirit transformed into a deliciously buttery whisky, surging with vanilla, chocolate laced with orange, ginger and sweet chilli. In addition he layered those oaky notes with soft, fruity Glenmorangie aged in first-fill bourbon casks. Then brought sweet subtlety with a hint of whisky finished in oloroso sherry casks. Aged 23 years, his creation bursts with ripe fruits and rich orange chocolate, gently threaded with sugared almonds and spice. Extraordinarily vibrant, Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1998 amplifies the Distillery’s signature elegance with a glorious spicy glow. Glenmorangie 23 Year Old 1998 Bond House No.1 Grand Vintage Malt $600.00
  • Ardbeg Supernova 2019 Committee Release. The Ardbeg distillery was founded in 1815 by John Macdougall on the island of Islay (pronounced ‘eye-lah’). As with many other distilleries there have been a number of owners over the years and a lot of ups and downs. One thing has remained consistent, the name and the unique letter A that’s been trademarked. 2019 brought to the retail market a limited release of Ardbeg Supernova. Said to be the peatiest whiskey in the Ardbeg line up, it has been described as a “peat bomb” or “peat explosion.” It was last seen on retail shelves back in 2015 as part of a celebration to mark the brand sending some of spirit into space to orbit the Earth for three years about the International Space Station. Tasting Notes: Ardbeg Supernova 2019 Committee Release Vital Stats: This single malt whisky matured in ex-bourbon barrels is 100% malted barley. Released October 2019; Limited release; Non chill-filtered at 53.8% ABV; no age statement; 750 ml. Appearance: Pale bronze Nose: It’s a full body peat that wafts into your nose. The smell is quite voluptuous, strong, yet pleasant. To me, there is not a “knock your socks off” smokey peat smell nor is it acrid. For a scotch, the smell seems very balanced between peat and sweetness which seems weird for the being the peatiest whisky brand. Palate: The flavor of this single malt scotch is very buttery and spicy with a smoky finish. It’s very smooth going down. For possibly being one of the peatiest whiskies in the world this is one of the smoothest I’ve ever encountered. Ardbeg Supernova 2019 Committee Release $250.00

  • In 1815, Donald and Alexander Johnston began leasing nearly 1,000 acres of land on the island of Islay. Their intent was to raise and sell cattle on the land and as a result, they began growing barley to be used as feed for their livestock. Following a particularly bountiful harvest, the brothers distilled the excess grains they had grown into whisky, and sold it to the inhabitants of the island. Soon thereafter, the brothers found it more profitable to distill whisky than to raise cattle, and Laphroaig (pronounced La-froyg) Distillery was born. For over a century, the distillery would remain in the hands of one of Johnston's descendants. In 1954, however, Ian Hunter passed away childless and bequeathed the distillery to Bessie Williamson, a secretary that had been working at the distillery for two decades. Hunter was incredibly protective of the distillery — while he slowly revealed its secrets to Williamson after she had earned his trust, Hunter prevented a cooper who was employed at the distillery from publishing his memoirs because they described the workings of the distillery in too great a detail. Laphroaig Single Malt Whisky is one of the most flavorful and intense whiskies made anywhere in the world. During Prohibition, it was one of the few whiskies still legally imported into the United States, as it was considered a medicinal spirit. Laphroaig Single Malt is made from the finest Scottish barley, which is malted at the distillery and smoked over a peat flame. Unlike other distilleries which source peat from the Scottish mainland, the peat used to smoke Laphroaig barley is made from the heather, mosses, and lichens of Islay and adds a distinct iodine-like flavor to the whisky. After the barley has been malted and peated, it is fermented before being twice-distilled through Laphroaig's copper-pot stills. The unique stills have an unusually flat base and flat surfaces, which lends to the overall intensity of the whisky. After the whisky has been distilled, it is aged in seasoned oak barrels, which are re-charred prior to being filled. The re-charring process caramelizes the remaining sugars in the barrel, and adds slightly sweet notes of vanilla and nutty dough to the whisky. Laphroaig 16 gets released on special occasions, starting with their 200th anniversary in 2015. The 2021 edition spent its 16 years in 1st-fill ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at 96 proof. The barrels impart the spirit with a striking bright-gold hue as well as vanilla and spice notes that blend perfectly with Laphroaig's signature peaty, maritime taste profile. Grab a bottle of this limited-edition Laphroaig 16 year old today! About Scotch Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.) Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
