  • Ardbeg Supernova 2015 Committee Release. The 4th release of the Supernova was exclusive to Ardbeg committee members and sold out in a matter of hours. The Supernovas are made with 100ppm malt, compared to the standard 55pm for the rest of Ardbeg whiskies, thus making this an even peatier powerhouse than normal. Rumour has it this is the final Supernova release. Bottled at 54.3% Tasting Notes: Ardbeg Supernova 2015 Committee Release Nose: Peppery and aromatic herbs scattered with effervescent perfume, followed by smoked fruits, briny, sweet smoked toffee, brazil nuts and soot. Palate: The peat is firing on all cylinders, with spice, salted caramel and billowing smoke along with antiseptic lozenges, medicinal notes and zingy aniseed intermingle with dark tar and intense chilli-spice.   • The 2022 release of Ardbeg 25 Year Old is a smoky single malt with layers of sweetness that was matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled in 2021. Aromas of cream, smoke, peppermint, toffee, fennel, pine resin, earthy bonfires and ripe bananas fill the nose, complemented by notes of white pepper, sherbet lemons, candied apples, oranges, pears, tar, carbolic soap, creamy toffee, aniseed, rich smoke and antiseptic throughout the palate. The newest and also oldest whisky to be released to Ardbeg's core range. This supreme expression proves unequivocally that age cannot tame Ardbeg’s raw smoky power. But it can yield some of the most complex and majestic flavours ever to burst forth from the Islay based distillery. Bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the Distillery’s darkest days, this is Ardbeg at its most intricate, balanced and beguiling.
