  • The 2022 release of Ardbeg 25 Year Old is a smoky single malt with layers of sweetness that was matured in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled in 2021. Aromas of cream, smoke, peppermint, toffee, fennel, pine resin, earthy bonfires and ripe bananas fill the nose, complemented by notes of white pepper, sherbet lemons, candied apples, oranges, pears, tar, carbolic soap, creamy toffee, aniseed, rich smoke and antiseptic throughout the palate. The newest and also oldest whisky to be released to Ardbeg's core range. This supreme expression proves unequivocally that age cannot tame Ardbeg’s raw smoky power. But it can yield some of the most complex and majestic flavours ever to burst forth from the Islay based distillery. Bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the Distillery’s darkest days, this is Ardbeg at its most intricate, balanced and beguiling.   • Balvenie 21 Year Old Single Barrel 2022 Release The Balvenie Single Barrel Traditional Oak Aged 21 celebrates the unique nature of single cask whisky with no more than 300 hand-numbered bottles drawn from each cask,forming a limited edition never to be repeated as no two casks produce identical single malt. This particular release comes from Cask Number 3837 and laid down in 1999 before bottling in February 2022. Tasting Notes: Balvenie 21 Year Old Single Barrel 2022 Release NOSE Delicate floral vanilla notes up front, followed by brioche, honeycomb, maple syrup and cinnamon in support PALATE Treacle tart with more maple syrup, walnut, mature oak and hints of caraway seed.   • The 2022-release of Longrow 18 Year Old heavily-peated whisky from Springbank Distillery has been matured exclusively in ex-sherry casks. Aromas of Maraschino cherries, sea salt, delicate orange, black pepper and coastal peat smoke fill the nose, complemented by notes of salted caramel, coffee, oak spice, engine oil, dried apricots, salty smoke and pepper throughout the palate.   • GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 11. The GlenDronach Distillery has unveiled Batch 11 in its Grandeur series of whiskies. A 28-year-old Single Malt Scotch hand-selected by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, the GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 11 is made from a small number of rare Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. The GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 11 was matured in sherry casks for nearly three decades and is made to epitomize the brand’s mastery of sherry cask maturation. It embodies their commitment to crafting exceptional, richly sherried Single Malts, using time-honored methods passed down for almost two centuries. On the nose, the whisky is opulent and powerful with notes of sherry, interwoven with dark manuka honey, roasted almond, and walnut. From there, baked plum and ginger captivate the senses, deepening to rustic vintage leather and freshly ground coffee. The palate is intense and full-bodied with dark fruit notes on a base of velvet and fine leather, followed by a crescendo of black cherry and espresso. The finish is richly rewarding, with waves of chocolate, licorice, and walnut. “The GlenDronach Grandeur is an unparalleled range of the finest aromas and character from masterful Spanish oak sherry cask maturation,” said Master Blender Rachel Barrie. “A Single Malt of elegant finesse, this expression offers a symphony of sherry aromatics interwoven with dark manuka honey, roasted almond, and walnut.
